I recently moved to London and wasn’t sure where to start with my photography or whom to photograph. I was eager to capture the complexity of people, to find their faces and, most importantly, their personalities. After a few months, Ruby got back to me.

We decided to set up a shoot. At first glance, it seemed straightforward—Ruby needed photos for her modeling tests to add to her portfolio. But I didn’t want to do just a standard model test. I wanted to delve deeper into her personality, to look inside, to tell a story.

Do we create stories, or do stories create us? No one can answer that definitively, but photographs certainly become a part of that story.

I want to go beyond simply creating model tests and focus on revealing personalities and stories through my photography. This adds depth and meaning. Does a person appear in the search for meaning? Proust might be proud.

When I photograph people, their personal stories and inner worlds are my top priority. My aim is to show not just their appearance but what lies beneath it. Photographs can become a powerful tool for conveying emotions and stories that are sometimes difficult to express in words.
